She must accessorize

Every morning when Sadie gets ready for school, she feels a need to accessorize her outfit. Now I think she looks good as is but she likes to add just a little bit more.

Sometimes it is a piece of jewelry or pink bunny or sometimes she wants to wear her "fancy" coat. This morning it was the sun glasses. I do think that she looks adorable but it is funny that she always needs to add a little bit more.

On on this same topic, yesterday I took Sadie to the mall and walked into Sephora. She had never dreamed there was such a store. Makeup everywhere! She was in heaven.

Valentine's Day

First we started by making lots and lots of cookies. Then we decorated those cookies. Lots of frosting and sprinkles. Yum!

Then we ate our cookies.

Moving on to our dinner....

Fondue!

We started our main course with cheese fondue. I thought that the kids would love cheese fondue. Our kids love cheese. I should have melted a big block of velvetta because they didn't appreciate the nutty taste of Gruyere cheese. David and I had a lot of cheese to eat.

But dessert, that was a different story. They loved the chocolate fondue! They couldn't believe that they had never heard of such a dessert before and that I had never made it for them.

A Funny Michael Saying...

If only I had started this blog 11 years ago, I could have filled it up with funny Michael sayings. As he is getting older, he is saying less really funny things. Though this one is a good one for who Michael is at this point in his life.

We took the kids up to PA for some snow tubing. Michael and Reed had lots of fun. Sadie was afraid of the snow. First, ice skating and now snow tubing; it wasn't the best week for Sadie. Anyway, after tubing, we were drinking some hot chocolate and David asked the kids, "Who had the most fun?" Everyone raised their hands. Michael says, "Everyone put down your hands. You all know that I had the most fun."

We decided to take Michael, Reed and Sadie ice skating. Sadie had watched a Disney movie about an ice skater and thought it was a great idea. She danced around the family roon showing me her skating moves.

Michael had fun. He fell a couple of times but got right back up and kept going. After the first time around, he let go of the wall and had some fun. He is asking to go back again.



Sadie got on her skates and I carried her to the ice and then she started crying and said that she did not want to go on the ice. Outside she is always worried about slipping on the ice on the sidewalks and makes me carry her so I guess a skating rink would be one big icy sidewalk to her. She was so afraid that she wouldn't even watch us skate.

That brings us to Reed. I got Reed what looks like a walker to push around the rink. It was great because he could hold on to it and not fall on the ice. He was pushing this thing hard. He was working. It looked like he was trying to plow a field. I was a bit in front of him and turned to ask him if he was having fun. His answer, "Not so much." Poor guy but he went around 3-4 times and then was done.

I'd say that she likes it...

I think that Sadie likes her new school. This is what she looks like everyday when she comes home. Today I was told that they had pudding and cookies for snack. Sounds good to me! I hope that she always enjoys school.
