Some sun and some school

The sun came out today to melt some of the ice and snow. And the kids went back to school--two hours late. Sadie missed the whole week of her new school because of the weather. Next week for sure- as long as the weather holds out.

Snow and Ice (and no school)

Friday was a half day of school and Monday was a scheduled day off of school so on Tuesday it started with a little bit of snow. Tuesday morning we got about 2 inches of snow. Schools were closed for the day. I am sure they could have gone but I think the forcast of ice scared the school system into closing.

Last night the freezing rain started and gave us a layer of ice on top of the snow. Again no school. We have had lots of time to play outside, sled in the back yard and bake.

Maybe tomorrow we will have school...






Since Sunday, we have baked 4 batches of cinnamon rolls, 2 batches of sugar cookies and one batch of rolls. Lots of baking. Good thing I just bought 25 pounds of flour at Costco.

Sadie is going to school

On Tuesday morning, Sadie is starting a new school. At first she was a bit worried about the change but with the promise of a new backpack and lots of positive talking about the school, she is excited for the change. In case you can't tell, the backpack is a pink elephant. It probably can't hold very much but it is cute. She wanted some pictures of herself with her new backpack so I helped her out.









Next Sadie did some dancing and jumping. She has a lot of hair. Can you see it all?



Sadie decided her head was cold and wanted her hat. I included this picture because I spend a lot of my day saying, "Sadie, be nice to the dog." Sadie loves Bingo a little bit too much. Bingo very nicely tolerates Sadie.

Oh so happy

Reed's Big Day.

Friday was a good day to be Reed. First was a field trip to the Science Center and he loves when he can bring a parent to chaperone. It was my turn to go since David got to go to the farm in November to learn about the pilgrims. Reed loved playing with all of the exhibits. He could have spent all day playing.

As soon as school was over, he and I went to see his pick of movies. He selected Hotel for Dogs. It was cute and he had fun eating sour skittles and drinking an ICEE. I enjoyed my popcorn and peanut butter M&Ms.

Next on the Fun Agenda for Reed was a sleep over with Michael and Sadie at Nana and Grandpa's house. They got to eat pizza, cheese balls and ice cream! I think tonight he will go to bed early.




I hope the giant crab behind Reed doesn't get him!

Christmas 2008

Michael has many faces. I took about 5 pictures of him in quick succession with his Ipod and each one he had a totally different expression. He was thrilled with his Ipod. He quickly learned how to download movies and tv shows onto it. And just a quickly used up his itunes gift card.


I think that Dad's face says it all about this gift.



Sadie had her heart set on a Raggety Ann doll. She loves it.



Santa brought Sadie a cute doll house. I wanted the doll family to have a family portrait of their family to hang above the fire place. They were so cooperative for their picture-- even the dog was good.
